A Fresh Approach for a Company Website

February 5, 2014In Development2 Minutes

Looking to make an impact with your company website? If so, you want to think about how to make your web design convey value to your users in a clean and concise manner. There are many ways to make your website stand out and really speak to your audience. The color palette, layout and the graphics all come into play when designing for a company website. Here are some unique approaches that you can try out.

Use visual storytelling – If the goal is to get people involved with your company or brand, go with visual storytelling. Combine relevant images with text written from a storytelling approach to draw people in and get them vested into your company or brand. Design methods like parallax design can really go a long way in helping you achieve this goal.

Keep it minimal – Say what you need to say as concisely as possible. Make sure your message speaks to the core audience as you will not be able to please everyone. Does your core product or service need an in-depth explanation? Then use a short video about what it does, rather than trying to fit everything into the homepage using text.

Lead the user – Use the homepage to grab the users attention and keep it simple and uncluttered. After you’ve gotten the user’s attention, you need to lead them to the next page. Make sure your web design creates an intuitive navigation path users are naturally drawn to follow.

Create an awesome experience – You want to keep the user engaged. The web can often be a monotonous experience. Make your web design visuals pop while also keeping them unique to your brand. Make the UI so that the user doesn’t think twice about how to use your website. Format the content, use readable font, improve load times and always be thinking of how you can improve the whole experience.
