A Sandbox for Design Exploration
It’s the core of our mission to explore how design evolves, functions, and shapes modern experiences. As a dedicated experience agency lab, VERSIONS® documents the transformation of design as a discipline. We cover everything from early ideation to fully formed systems. Through branding, UX/UI, visual storytelling, and digital innovation, we create a space where experimentation and execution meet.
Rooted in our work at ArtVersion, VERSIONS® functions as both a hands-on lab and a deep resource center. Our team actively researches, analyzes, and publishes insights that connect theory to real-world applications. This approach allows us to test new visual languages, challenge assumptions, and expand design boundaries. At its core, VERSIONS® focuses not only on what design looks like but also on how it works, why it matters, and where it’s going.
We’ve been leading this dialogue since the mid-’90s—well before UX became widely recognized. From the beginning, we embraced human-centered design. That perspective shaped VERSIONS® into a way of giving back to the industry. By sharing our insights and experiences openly, we aim to help others create better, more thoughtful user experiences.
Why We Trademarked VERSIONS®
VERSIONS® is more than a name—it’s a method and a mindset. Within our creative process, “versions” are signs of growth. Wireframes evolve into interfaces. Sketches turn into scalable systems. Concepts improve through iteration. We see every version as progress.
As this approach became central to our work, we knew it needed formal recognition. Trademarking VERSIONS® affirmed our commitment to experimentation, authorship, and integrity. It also protected the design systems, terminology, and thought leadership we’ve developed.
Just as we guide brands in defining their voice and vision, we applied that same care to our own. Today, VERSIONS® represents our design culture. It stands for iteration, transparency, and shared progress.
Where Collaboration Meets Contribution
The strength of VERSIONS® comes from the people behind it. Our team doesn’t just design—we participate in shaping the field itself. We regularly serve as jurors for major awards, including the Webby Awards through our membership with the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS).
Additionally, we contribute to the broader creative and digital space through our active participation in industry organizations. We are members of the Forbes Agency Council, the Fast Company Executive Board, and the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA). These affiliations reflect our ongoing role in evaluating, discussing, and elevating standards in design, brand strategy, and digital communication.
Through VERSIONS®, we bring these contributions forward—sharing what we learn and offering insight into the evolving practice of UX, UI, and brand experience design.
The Future Through the Lens of VERSIONS®
VERSIONS® is always evolving. Each article, prototype, or framework we publish offers insight into the process behind great design. We believe design is never final—it’s versioned, refined, and continuously improved.
As we look ahead, VERSIONS® will remain a platform for experimentation and insight. It will be a resource for those seeking clarity in a crowded digital space. We invite the industry to explore with us, test new ideas, and grow through iteration.
Every version moves us forward—toward better experiences, smarter systems, and a more thoughtful design future.
Our published articles are dedicated to the design and the language of design. VERSIONS®, focuses on elaborating and consolidating information about design as a discipline in various forms. With historical theories, modern tools and available data — we study, analyze, examine and iterate on visual communication language, with a goal to document and contribute to industry advancements and individual innovation. With the available information, you can conclude practical sequences of action that may inspire you to practice design disciplines in current digital and print ecosystems with version-focused methodologies that promote iterative innovations.
